Acevedo took this photo of violinist Keith Berry playing at the Lhasa Club, in Los Angeles, sometime in 1983. Keith went on to tour with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. On this night he was playing with local club hero called Hollywood Joe. This image was composed after hours in early 1996 at the GMK graphics service bureau located on West 28th Street. This was from the first group of works that opened Acevedo's New York City period. It utilized the first collection of geometry he created in the SVA computer lab early in that year. One of the features in this work is the perceptual shift that happens when your eye toggles between the figure and the geometry. This image had its public debut as part of the 1996 New York Digital Salon, held at the Visual Arts Gallery at the School of Visual Arts Campus at East 23rd Street, NYC. It was also published in the show's catalogue which was a special issue of the Leonardo Journal Volume 29, Number 5.

Acevedo: This is a visualization of the structure of sound as generated by a musician standing in the structure he's generating.
