VE Localized is based on a photograph of a suburban backyard scene in Southern California. Acevedo took the photograph sometime in the Summer of 1983. The title comes from Fuller's Synergetics. An equi-vectored cuboctahedron circumscribes the domain of a random gathering of people about a patio table. A figure in the background holds in his hand, a triangle.
